Elvis Lives in Niagara Falls Canada!
The legendary “King of Rock ‘n Roll”, Elvis Presley will be appearing LIVE in Niagara Falls, Canada, this weekend!
We’ll actually, there will be several Elvi’ appearing in the first “Days of Elvis Festival” beginning tonight on Queen Street.
The “Days of Elvis Festival” will be a tribute to the King himself featuring some of the top Elvis tribute artists in the business. The event will get started at 1:00pm, Friday September 5th with the 1st annual Elvis film festival. Elvis’s own legendary drummer, D.J. Fontana, will be there in person to meet and greet loyal fans of the “King”.
Among the lineup of tribute artists will be Niagara’s own, Douglas Roy.
A native of Niagara Falls, Doug grew up entertaining locally until the early ’70’s when he formed a very popular tribute show called, “Douglas”. Doug is noted as being the only tribute artist who actually performed with the real Elvis in the mid ’70’s just prior to the premature death of the rock ‘n roll legend.
Also included in the entertainment lineup will be;
Pete Paquette, Collingwood Festival Grand Champion, 2005;
Pat Curtis, Winterfest Grand Champion, 1999;
Jay Zanier, 2007 Grand Champion, Collingwood,
and many more.
There will be special performances by Ian Mitchell of the Bay City Rollers, and The Stamps Quartet, who regularily performed with Elvis.
